Our security does not stop at encryption.
To create a truly secure system, JetTrade must protect our customers in their own environment. To accomplish this an authentication system was devised that assigns a random character token for each login. The token follows the customer while navigating through the On-line system and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity at which point the customer must revalidate both account number and password. Tokens are also mapped with the originating IP (Internet Protocol) address and are rendered inactive if used from the incorrect address.
Passwords
Passwords are used to login and access your account and the On-line system and can be up to 20 characters with a minimum of 4 characters. There are no restrictions on which characters can be used, including spaces. Passwords are stored in the database and not in files. All Web pages that require passwords are expired immediately to prevent use of the "back key" or from illicit examination of a customer's cache.
The JetTrade.com’s system utilizes a customized HTTP Transaction Server to service Web requests. The server is controlled by parameters specified in the database and logs all activity to the database, not the files. The server does not have the ability to run CGI scripts which are often used to obtain unauthorized access. Instead the program code is linked directly with the server.
Secure HTTP Connection
The Web server accesses back office functions through a secure HTTP connection. Authorization is required for the Web server to communicate with the back office server. The back office server communicates directly with the database or other back office services. All requests to the back office server are logged in the database. The On-line servers do not run "telnet services" that allow shell access. All servers are located behind a packet filter firewall that prevents all unauthorized protocols from entering.
